Track Record

Today is the first day in a while that I’ve not had any positions open, so I thought it would be a good time to stop and take a look at how my little $5,000 demo account has been doing so far, since March 31st (Well, technically I opened it on March 21) up until today:

Gross Profit: 3 229.88
Gross Loss: 2 357.82
Total Net Profit: 872.06

*Profit Factor: 1.37
*Expected Payoff: 17.10

*Absolute Drawdown: 823.76
*Maximal Drawdown: 1 644.15 (28.25%)
*Relative Drawdown: 28.25% (1 644.15)

Total Trades: 51
Short Positions (won %): 38 (68.42%)
Long Positions (won %): 13 (69.23%)
Profit Trades (% of total): 35 (68.63%)
Loss trades (% of total): 16 (31.37%)

Largest:
profit trade: 290.00
loss trade: -572.74

Average
profit trade: 92.28
loss trade: -147.36

Maximum:
consecutive wins ($): 12 (826.43)
consecutive losses ($): 7 (-1 644.15)

Maximal:
consecutive profit (count): 835.64 (5)
consecutive loss (count): -1 644.15 (7)

Average:
consecutive wins: 4
consecutive losses: 2

*I’ll be honest, I haven’t got a clue what anything with an asterisk means.

Analysis:
Well, at least my wins exceed my losses percentage-wise, but when I lose I tend to REALLY lose.
Why? I hate stop losses. I refuse to use them. I probably should, but I just feel it can close a lot of trades that may otherwise swing way around the other way.

What’s that? YOu want it in image form? Well wordpress totally effed up their image upload section to give me a second to put this on photobucket….. ok.
This is fucked up so just click here
